IBC Tamil (formerly the International Broadcasting Corporation for Tamil) is a multimedia company offering subscription-free Tamil radio, television, magazine and online services across the globe. In 1997 IBC Tamil began as a radio station reaching out to Tamil people living all over the world, in the UK, Europe and the Middle East - soon to expand to Canada. We now run the world's largest 24-hour Tamil radio station, boasting a core audience of over one million and growing.

IBC Tamil has built a reputation as providers of unbiased news editorial and high-quality entertainment. Our programming is community-focused and socially responsible so we go everywhere our audiences want to go, from regional events to sports fixtures. Then our local crews in Sri Lanka and India create relevant up-to-the-minute reports for our expert editorial team to share across all media formats. Whilst continuing to grow our business, we remain committed to our role within the Tamil community: providing people with a trusted source of news and information from their homeland. IBC Tamil: Free to Use and Easy to Access

Our services are licensed and regulated under European broadcast law and we make sure people can enjoy them on whichever devices or media they choose. Audiences can access our services free of charge through TV and satellite, depending on their location, and globally via our website ibctamil.com. In 2015 we are adding a magazine to our offering, in both print and online formats. Mobile audiences can watch and listen to their favourite shows using the IBC Tamil App (available for Android and Mac iOS) which is regularly upgraded to offer the best possible user experience.

2015 Re-launch

During its existence the company has changed management a number of times, most recently in 2014 when we officially rebranded as. To introduce our new brand and highlight the fresh additions of television and online services to our core radio offering, we held a spectacular re-launch event in April 2015. Over 1500 celebrities, business partners, performers, media people and fans joined us at London's ILEC conference centre to celebrate!

Management & Offices

IBC Tamil is headed by an experienced management team with a successful track record in Tamil-related business and media. The company's main headquarters and operations are in London in the UK, employing a workforce of over 50. We run equally large subsidiary offices in Sri Lanka and in Chennai in India.

IBC Tamil Radio

We've been on the airwaves since 1997 and in 2010 became the first Tamil radio station to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) in London. Our aim is always to provide easily accessible first-rate entertainment and excellent service to satisfy our ever-growing numbers of listeners across the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and India. IBC Tamil offers an excellent line-up of regular and one-off shows. Our music and chat-filled breakfast show gets each day off to an lively start, followed by news programmes, listeners' choice, game shows, political coverage, weekend specials and much more.

New Radio Stations For 2015

In JULY 2015 we re-launched IBC Asia Radio, our online Hindi radio station aimed at Bollywood fans, which now attracts listeners daily/monthly This year will also see the launch of another new radio channel,Gagana, targeting Singhalese listeners in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

In addition to TV and radio, viewers and listeners can keep track of everything IBC Tamil offers through live streaming on our website and IPTV (internet television). As of June 2015, our ever-increasing online statistics show 3500+ website visits each hour, 30,000 Facebook likes and 3000+ Twitter followers.

IBC Tamil Television

IBC Tamil Television broadcasts infotainment for worldwide viewers of all ages via satellite and streaming from our website. Our content includes breaking news, live events and a huge range of entertainment, including game shows, dance and singing competitions.

Outstanding HD-quality Viewing

In 2015 we invested £2 million in digital studio equipment and now produce nearly all of our programme content in High Definition (HD).

In-House Production

We produce most of our television output locally, at our in-house studios in Ruislip in London. The remaining content is sourced from professional producers in India. Top productions include dance competitions (Nadana Rajas), singing contests (Thangakural Thedal) and our own drama serials.

Based in Ruislip, we're within easy reach of central London by rail or road (via the A40 and M25) and 20 minutes drive from Heathrow Airport.
